School Services

At The Children’s Bookshop we know that one of the best ways to ensure a literate adult population is to foster a love of books and reading in children. We are also aware that no school, however well – financed, ever has all the funds they would like to spend on books. To this end we are offering various services to schools throughout the country.

Our Scheme for Schools

First, and foremost, is our recently launched scheme, available to any school within Edinburgh and the Lothians. We don’t want to give more work to already over-burdened teachers and staff, so we have kept it as simple as possible with no vouchers to collect, no minimum or maximum thresholds and no deadlines to adhere to. The school merely has to collect the receipts from purchases made in our shop by teachers, parents, pupils, second-cousins-twice-removed, and we will give them 5% of the total back in books. Just as an example, if a school has 500 pupils and each parent or pupil bought four £5.99 paperbacks in a year, then that school could claim back almost £600-worth of books. So you can see that the total quickly mounts up.

If you are interested in this scheme or require more information please email us or phone, 0131 447 1917, for more details.

We offer an ordering service for schools with a low minimum order value, generous discounts and free delivery wherever possible. We are also able to assist in compiling reading lists for children of any age, offering opinions and advice on the most recent publications.
